Abstract

Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is one of the economic indicators that can be used to evaluate the economic development performance of a region (province or district/city). GRDP data sets can also be used for other purposes, such as as the basis for developing economic models in order to formulate policies, the level of acceleration of money supply (velocity of money), financial deepening, tax determination, export and import studies and so on. The calculation of GRDP can be done through three approaches, namely: the production / supply approach (GRDP by Business Field / industry), the expenditure / final demand approach (GRDP by Expenditure) and the income approach (GRDP by income / income). The three calculation approaches will theoretically produce the same GRDP figures. This publication specifically discusses GRDP according to the expenditure/end demand approach. This approach is broken down into several components, namely: Household Consumption Expenditure, Consumption Expenditure of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households, Government Consumption Expenditure, Investment (Gross Fixed Capital Formation and Inventory Changes), and Inter-Regional Net Exports (inter-regional exports minus inter-regional imports). The GRDP data in this publication and subsequent publications use the base year 2010, and have implemented the System of National Accounts 2008 concept as recommended by the United Nations.
