Abstract

The number of labor force in Barru Regency in August 2024 was 86,716 people, a decrease of 3,385 people compared to August 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) fell by 2.94 percentage points. The working population in August 2024 was 81,153 people, a decrease of 3,643 people from August 2023. The employment sector with the largest labor absorption was the services sector (40,288 people). Meanwhile, the agriculture and manufacturing sectors only absorbed 26,129 people and 14,736 people respectively. In addition, in August 2024, 40,535 people (49.95 percent) worked in formal activities, up 4.51 percentage points compared to August 2023. The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 6.42 percent, an increase of 0.53 percentage points compared to August 2023.
