Sakernas Officer Training 2019

On January 26 to 29, 2019, Barru Regency Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) conducted a National Labor Force Survey Survey Training (SAKERNAS) activity in 2019, this activity was held for 4 days (3 effective days) at Pare Beach Hotel, Parepare City.

Field Officer Training is part of a series of Sakernas activities to be held in 2019, the purpose of this Field Officer Training is to provide learning about 2019 Sakernas material consisting of questionnaires and guidebooks as a reference for collecting data in the field.

As we know, the labor theory approach used in Sakernas since 1984 uses the Basic Labor Force Concept as stated in the 13th International Conference of Labor Statistician (ICLS) in 1982. While in 2013, the International Labor Organization (ILO) organized the 19th ICLS which resulted in several development concepts in the definition of employment variables, as well as adjusting the concept of productive activity (Work) to the general production limits of the National Balance System (SNA).

In addition, at present employment issues are growing, such as with the emergence of the phenomenon of informal workers (informal employment), demands for decent work, home-based workers, the most recent in the SAKERNAS 2019 questionnaire capturing information about dependent contractor, workforce involved in digital economic activities that use digital technology and capture job information from labor intensive.

In general, Sakernas 2019 collects employment data on an ongoing basis, namely information relating to working population and unemployment.

In particular, the 2019 Sakernas was designed to be able to calculate other employment indicators such as decent employment indicators, and the prevalence of the formal-informal sector, and home-based workers.

Hopefully this training will produce qualified and competent field officers to get accurate and up to date data for future development.
